Good for Games, not so much for Food !

Quick narrative of my experience at Pepsi BluO

The Pepsi BluO as they like to call themselves is located in the ever happening Phoenix Market City, Viman Nagar, Pune. The place is quite famous for Corporate get together and team building activities. I was here for one such party and the experience was good except the food part of the bargain.

The Ambience & Games – This is their USP and where they score the most i.e. their Ambience and Games. To start with the ambience is swanky and gives a great feel and you would definitely miss something if you visit BluO and don’t play a game of bowling. Bowling and BluO are synonymous with each other while there are other activities like Pool, Foosball or a Karaoke session to enjoy as well but nothing beats an exciting game of Bowling. The DJ session was pretty good and the DJ knew what he wanted to play and how to make the atmosphere exciting with good selection of numbers, Yo !

The Food – Starters are Good, Main course is not !

Chicken Tikka – This was the best of the lot, had everything going for it, was juicy & tender and it would have been wonderful if they were served warm every time which I will cover in the Service section.

Paneer Chilly – This was a fair enough preparation and would have been better if the Paneer was a bit crispy, nevertheless no real complaints here.

Honey Chilly Potatoes – They were served in a texture of fries but the level of Honey in the preparation was slightly more than what one would like. This made the dish a little more sweeter than what was desired and I didn’t like it that much.

Chicken 65 – This was pretty Okay however the preparation was overpowered by Curry leaves. It would have been better if one element was not so overpowering in this preparation.

And the disappointing Main Course – It’s not even worth mentioning in details as to how almost all of the preparations were so bland that this really affected the overall good experience till this point. I am just going to paste some of the Main course pictures and leave it at that.

Service is prompt but lacks warmth – The starters were replenished at a fair enough pace but were not served hot most of the time, at best they were lukewarm which was a dampener of sorts. The people manning the Bar and the exclusive drinks section for our party could have been more courteous but they weren’t so this was one aspect I just couldn’t neglect even if I tried to and this is gonna be a memory I would continue to associate when I look back at the overall experience.

The Verdict – The Corporate Package works out good but probably the facility needs to introspect if they’re providing the food which works out to be value for money given the price they are charging. The people who had the drinks package were otherwise happy but couple of instances with the not so friendly personnel left a bit of bad taste in the mouth !
