Combo of Cricket and decent Food !

Rating – 3.5/5

As you reach 21 Hill Street in Bavdhan the first thing that strikes you is their take on a Greek kind of ambience, it definitely makes for a good viewing in the evening with a tinge of blue following you everywhere !

Location & Parking – Located on the main Bavdhan Road towards Chandani chowk, they have ample parking for both two wheelers and four wheelers. It was quite refreshing to witness just their bluish ambience and not witness parking blues 😉

The Ambience – They offer three kind of seating options ranging as below:

  • First one is right after entrance where IPL screenings currently happen through Projector, offers comfortable seating with fans to cool you down.
  • On the same level there’s an indoor seating if you prefer air-conditioning and this was previously the section where Bar was located but they currently don’t serve alcohol due to the 500m rule as you would know.
  • The third type of seating arrangement is on a level above and comes as an open air setting and this is where we chose to sit as the evening was doted with a nice breeze and we had a nice time.

The Food – Food was pretty decent and we had a sizable grub to deal with comprising of Aloo ki Nazakat (Rs 220), Bhare hue Dhingre(Rs 240), Chicken Angaara Kebab(Rs.310), Chicken Rozali Kebab(Rs 340), Veg Alfredo Pasta(Rs 220), Chicken Verdura Pizza(Rs 300), Murgh Mussallam(Rs 320), Daal Peshawari(Rs 300), Daal Tadka(Rs 260), Jeera Rice(Rs 160) and Butter Naans (3 pieces per Naan, Rs 50).

While the Chicken Angara, Alfredo Pasta, Pizza and Daal peshawari came across as okayish items, the others had more going for them and a brief is included for each of them.

Aloo ki Nazakat – It was a Tandoori Aloo stuffed with a nice filling of cheese among other ingredients and worked as a pretty good Veg starter.

IMG_5566Bhare hue Dhingre – This was yet another tasty item and it always is nice to come across some tasty vegetarian starters for a change, again the filling was yummy and Mushrooms were properly chargrilled to make this a yummy preparation.

Chicken Rozali Kebab –Juicy chicken stuffed with minced mutton, enjoyed to the fullest !

Murg Mussallam – A medium spicy red chicken gravy garnished with boiled eggs, usually this is one safe dish that doesn’t go wrong at too many places and it worked well here as well with their extremely well prepared butter naans. Daal tadka and jeera rice which followed were pretty decent as well.

VFM & Service – We were taken good care by the staff though I won’t really judge them on this parameter as we were invited so it was supposed to be good but I have been to other places where despite being on invitation the service was not upto the mark so mentioned this point. On the Value for Money quotient I would rank them good if not excellent and mostly the quantity served justifies their pricing.

The Verdict – With a decent open air setting, coupled with other seating arrangements including IPL screenings this could be a good option to spend your evening in Bavdhan. It won’t burn a hole in your pocket and overall serves as a nice decent option for a no frills outing !
