Delicious Food Experience at Kangan !

Kangan is one of the most sought after place in Pune especially for some lip-smacking North Indian & Mughlai Food.

The Ambience – As we walked in, I found the ambience of the place to be pretty decent but I expected it to be a little more classy and better lit than what was the case. Nevertheless nothing really to complain about.

The Food – While we were looking to order stuff we were presented with a complimentary serving of the Masaala Naan. Initially I thought that was a strange choice to present at the beginning of the meal. Surprisingly the Naan was self-sufficient, crispy, full of flavors and disappeared in no time in combination with the accompanying green chutney.

In all we ordered the Chicken Kalmi Kebab, Mutton Rogan Josh & Mutton Dum Biryani. I cannot lay a finger on the quality of food and everything in terms of taste & flavors was spot on. The Chicken Kebab in particular was a delicious starter, the chicken was tender and had a medium spicy flavor and we enjoyed it to its full extent. In most of my encounters I do come across a lot of Dumb Biryanis but that was certainly not the case for this particular Dum Biryani variant at the Indian speciality restaurant Kangan ! Extremely tender Mutton chunks with a biryani that was full of spices and moisture.

The Verdict – The food here is no doubt expensive but completely satiates your tastebuds though the service attentiveness could definitely improve given the bucks you spend here, overall a fantastic food experience.
