Amazing Falls and Beautiful location, a must visit for Families !

This is a nice little spot located pretty close to the city of Hope. From the parking area it’s a nice little walk of around 20 minutes among the natural surroundings. It’s not too steep however at the same it is not too stroller friendly though kids can still walk up to the base of the waterfall without a lot of trouble.

As you approach the falls you can hear the thumping sound of water preparing you with an anticipation of a huge fall and to be honest it doesn’t really disappoint though it ranks as the 38th highest in Canada but it’s still quite a sight. As it comes down a height of 122 metres, it’s width increases as it comes down and thereby creates a veil like effect. The viewing area is not too big but can easily accommodate 8-10 people.
We were in more than an adventurous mood on the day we visited and we climbed up to the spot where falls hit the ground from the top. The experience of witnessing the falls near the top was simply amazing and it was a sight to behold with water stream gushing down heavily. I would like to warn that after climbing up we saw that the water flow was really quick and if one is not careful then there’s a great chance of a serious injury. Also while coming down we found it a bit tough as you could easily skid while coming down and seriously injure yourself.

This is a must visit spot if you’re near Chilliwack visiting the Tulips Valley or on the way to Harrison Hot Springs.

Scenic views and Beautiful Lake !

Among the serene and natural surroundings you have the view of Snow capped mountains in background with blue colored water lake in the foreground !! It’s absolutely a sight to behold, it has an adequate playing area for kids, clean washrooms and boating facilities in Summer.
Nearby is a public pool with Natural hot springs and is a different kind of experience that is definitely recommended. Parking could get a little challenging on weekends however if you look around close by it shouldn’t be impossible to find a spot.

There are a number of dining outlets located fairly close to the lake with Village Pizzeria serving some of the yummilicious pizzas that you can taste ever.

The charm of the place is further accentuated by a ramp where you could just sit and enjoy the outstanding views all around.

In a nutshell, it’s a lot of fun for a Day’s outing, located around a 90 minutes drive away from Vancouver to be enjoyed with family and friends 🙂

Chesterman Beach Pacific Rim Highway, Tofino, British Columbia

Absolutely awesome Beach !

Visiting Tofino was one of the dreams I chased while on deputation in Vancouver, Canada. Being a non resident it’s considered usually difficult to travel long distances in a foreign country but my love for beaches and the adventurist in me planned this excursion to Tofino over a long weekend in 2014.

We started from Horseshoe Bay early morning by boarding a ferry to Nanaimo. Nanaimo is at a distance of 30 nautical miles and it takes an hour and forty minutes of travel time. We reached right on time and the next step in the plan was to rent a pre-booked car from Enterprise (who were courteous enough to pick us up from Nanaimo Terminal)

Once the formalities were completed we were on our way to Parksville where we had planned our overnight stay and take a tour of the surrounding areas of ParksVille (more on that in a separate review).

Through a scenic and trouble free drive we reached the famous Chesterman beach located to the South of Tofino. It’s an absolute delight for beach lovers with pure white sand and has ample space so as not to feel overcrowded.

One of the unique features witnessed was the fact that one side of water looked like blue in color and the other side as green. A part of the beach was rocky and it was an experience itself to climb the rocks and observe the waves from a height. On the other side there are nice green top hills overlooking the Chesterman beach, all this makes the overall scenery so exquisite that you can pass an entire by soaking in the views of the surrounding and you won’t get bored.

Talking about the Parking, there is enough space available and the best part is it’s free of any charges though the spots are a bit secluded so don’t forget to lock your vehicle and you would just do fine.

In a nutshell it’s a scenic location frequented by families and a good spot to start with the basics of surfing.
