Hotel Sai Bansi, Shirdi

Works alright for a late night or early morning visit to Temple.

Rating – 3/5

Sai Bansi is a hotel located around 400 metres from Shirdi Temple. It comes with an in house vegetarian cuisine restaurant and a fair enough car parking space towards the backside of the property.

We had booked a triple bed ac room and in the end we were given a four bedded room that comes with two King size beds. The spring mattresses were pretty good and weren’t worn out as is mostly the case in budget properties resulting in good sleep quality.

Coming to the flip side of things the fixtures in rooms and washrooms require maintenance and cleanliness in washroom is a bit of a concern as well.

The food quality is not the greatest but isn’t too bad either though the hygiene and cleanliness again can definitely be improved.

It’s a value for money deal though as we got this room for 1100 bucks and were able to complete a quick Temple visit within 30 minutes.

Great views and helpful staff !

Rating – 4/5

We were here for a day and stayed in their best room – Solitaire (S3). The room comes with a porch in front and an amazing view of the sea to follow.

The room itself is quite spacious and comes with a king size bed and a sofa cut bed. It can easily accommodate three adults and a child. The room was clean and the bathroom was quite spacious with a huge wardrobe and geyser. The Ac in the room worked fine and there was no apparent issue we could find in terms of amenities. It’s what you see is what you get in the pictures, as simple as that. We got a fantastic deal from goibibo and it’s still not season time until middle of October so I guess some great deals are up for grabs.

The restaurant served some pretty good food at reasonable prices, for two adults and a kid, a dinner and lunch costed us between 500-600 bucks which I would say as pretty reasonable. It’s a sight to behold to have your meals while watching the ocean at a short distance.

The breakfast buffet was included within the stay package though I can’t term it as above average to be fair. It consisted of poha, vada paav, thaalipeeth, boiled eggs and papaya/watermelon cuts. It also had the option of tea, orange juice and bread butter/jam. The person manning the restaurant was very helpful and modest, I am not sure if I remember the name correctly but I guess his name was Mr. Yogesh.

Reasons for not rating them 5/5 are as below:

1. They really need to sort out their parking as the indicated slot is outside their property. On their initial directions I parked my SUV outside but during the evening I saw few other cars parked inside in front of reception and I followed the suit as well. However inside they don’t have a space to house more than four cars at a time.

2. Lack of swimming pool/WiFi/any sort of indoor activities to involve a family are missing. In a beach town like here it’s not possible to be out all the time in the scorching sun so it would have been great to have these basic amenities to enhance the experience even further.

3. They don’t accept cards whether debit or credit so please carry enough cash to be able to pay for your dues 🙂

Despite these rather simple shortcomings our stay was pleasant and hassle free and we’ll definitely come back here later on in the near future.
